Designing and specifying the type of materials to be used in construction, such as concrete, steel, or timber.
Calculating the stresses and strains that structures will experience during use and designing structures to resist those forces.
Reviewing and approving construction plans and drawings to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
Conducting site visits and inspections during construction to ensure that the project is being built according to design plans and specifications.
Managing and supervising junior engineers and drafters.
